The Truth About Sore Pads

As might be expected, most sore pads are caused by excessive wear and tear to your dog's feet while working. However, what also causes pad soreness can be dry and/or cracked pads that are not supple enough to tolerate the excessive force and friction of running. When dry brittle pads are constantly subjected to stress they will quickly peel, tear, and break open. This in turn can cause another contributing problem, namely a secondary infection, either fungal or bacterial, which will exacerbate the problem. This combination of factors will quickly ruin your dog's ability to train and hunt at all. An owner can also help prevent these factors from happening by gradually getting his dogs used to hard work, rather than taking a completely un-worked dog (with no foot-pad toughness) and running it for hours into the night. Along with gradually building-up the work, and owner can help his dog's paws even more by applying Up-N-Running™ Pad Toughener to them, both as a preventative as well as a healing agent after the work.

The Advantage of Up-N-Running Pad Toughener

The good news is Up-N-Running™ Pad Toughener addresses all 3 of the factors that can damage paws: overwork, dry/cracked pads, as well as secondary infection. The Essential Oils in Up-N-Running™ Pad Toughener provide lubrication and moisture to ensure suppleness (with the Cod Liver Oil adding Vitamins A & D, while the Wheat Germ Oil adds Vitamin E). The turpentine not only removes any foul odor, but it fights off virtually any bacterial and fungal problems also. All of these elements are finally sealed in bees' wax to keep the product on your dog's feet where it belongs to do its job. When managed properly, Up-N-Running™ Pad Toughenr will become a vital aid in preventing and healing pad tears and soreness in your valuable dogs. The repeated application of Up-N-Running™ Pad Toughener will allow a proper, supple callous to build-up on your dog's pads, which foundation is vital to him being able to withstand the rigors of hard work.

How to Use Up-N-Running Pad Toughener

Work a small amount of Up-N-Running™ Pad Toughener onto your fingers and then gently, but firmly, apply to each of your dog's paws, massaging the product between the toes (on top and on bottom) and really working it into the pads. (If product gets hard in colder weather, warm it until it softens a bit.) Make sure to apply product over and around toenails. Do not over-apply product, but do make sure a full and even layer has been applied throughout the surface area of the paws and they feel supple to the touch. Repeat with each paw. For best results apply twice daily, once in the morning and once again after the dog works in the evening.
